Montreal, January 4th 2011. ¬" Thirty-eight shots weren ¬â¢t enough for the Montreal Juniors who lost their first game of the year 2-1 in the hands of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens at Centre Georges-Vézina.
In first period, Chicoutimi ¬â¢s defenseman Napessis André scored the first goal of the game, which was also his first of the season, assisted by teammates Guillaume Asselin and Jonathan Bonneau to give his team a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
The 3,061 attendance at Centre Georges-Vézina will have to wait at 4:37 of the third period to see Sagueneens ¬â¢ forward Jonathan Bonneau give his team a 2-0 lead with his 14th of the season. Christopher Gibson ¬â¢s hope for a shut-out disappeared with only seconds remaining to the game as Montreal ¬â¢s Dylan Anderson scored his 9th of the season. However, it was too little too late for Montreal who starts 2011 with a loss.
Christopher Gibson (Chicoutimi), Jonathan Bonneau (Chicoutimi) and Xavier Ouellet (Montreal) were respectively named first, second and third star of the game.
