D-Fenders Set D-League Scoring Record in 175-152 Victory

EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders set new NBA Development League records of most points scored in a single quarter, half and game in route to a 175-152 win over Reno.

Manny Harris recorded his second triple-double of the season with 39 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds for the D-Fenders (5-10).Vander Blue (26 points, 12 assists) and Roscoe Smith (22 points, 16 rebounds) each finished with double-doubles. Jabari Brown added 28 points off the bench for L.A., while Ater Majok (18 points, seven rebounds) and Keith Appling (22 points, six assists) both finished with season-highs for points scored.

The Bighorns (5-6) were paced by Quincy Miller, who tallied 28 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Tajuan Porter (20 points, 12 assists) and David Stockton (15 points, 10 assists) both finished with double-doubles, while Brady Heslip (24 points), David Wear (21 points, seven rebounds), Jordan Hamilton (18 points, five rebounds) and Stefhon Hannah (10 points) all scored in double-digits for Reno.

The records started falling early in this one, with the D-Fenders finishing the first quarter with a 56-42 lead and the record for most points scored in a quarter in NBADL history. Harris shot an incredible 9-of-10 from the floor and finished the quarter with 18 points. Porter led the Bighorns with nine. The second quarter was closer, with Los Angeles outscoring Reno 38-37. Los Angeles shot .619 in the half, in route to a new NBADL record of 94 points. Harris totaled 26 points for the D-Fenders, followed by Majok (14 points), Brown (13 points) and Appling (13 points). Reno was led by Heslip with 16 points and Porter with 14.

Los Angeles outscored Reno 39-33 in the third quarter, behind 10 points from Blue, eight points from Smith and eight points from Brown. The D-Fenders shot .650 in the third quarter, pushing their lead to 21 points (133-112) after three. Los Angeles continued to fill it up in the fourth, finishing with 42 points on their way to a 175-152 victory.

The D-Fenders led this one wire-to-wire, with their biggest lead maxing out at 29 points. The D-Fenders shot .616 on the night, compared to .457 for the Bighorns. Los Angeles grabbed more rebounds (63-36) and handed out more assists (48-33) than Reno. The D-Fenders recorded 88 points in the paint, while the Bighorns tallied 58. Los Angeles would total 46 fast-break points, compared to 27 for Reno.
