Atlanta Gladiators News Release

The Gwinnett Gladiators traded defenseman Pat Bowen to the Ontario Reign on Monday for future considerations. In addition, the Gladiators also added defenseman Drew Paris to the roster.

Bowen, 25, wrapped up a four-year career at Merrimack last season where he racked up 19 points (one goal, 18 assists) in 37 games. He was a healthy scratch for both of the team's first two games in Florida this past weekend.

Paris, 22, returns to Gwinnett after spending the 2009-2010 season with the Gladiators. He had a breakout campaign and was named to both the ECHL All-Star and All-Rookie teams as he tallied 45 points (12 goals, 33 assists) in 65 games.

Paris began the season with Toronto of the American Hockey League but did not appear in a game with the Marlies.

The Gwinnett Gladiators 2010-11 home opener is this Friday, October 22nd against the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
