Loss overshadows big night for Ramirez

Round Rock Express News Release

Former Round Rock catcher J.R. House made himself right at home Wednesday night at the Dell Diamond, launching a two-run home run onto the left field berm in the top of the first inning for Omaha, spearheading an eventual 14-7 rout of the Express by the Royals.

House hit .306 with 18 home runs and 60 RBI last season at Round Rock, with a number of those home runs finding the left field berm. House went 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored Wednesday night, and the Royals ran ragged all over the field at the Dell Diamond, collecting 19 hits, eight walks and two home runs.

The Royals scored four runs in the first inning off of four hits - two of which were home runs - and kept the onslaught going all game, scoring two or more runs in four innings.

The highlight of the night for Round Rock was right fielder Yordany Ramirez, who was 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, two RBI and made an incredible throw from deep right to catch a runner trying to tag from second to third.

Express starter Jose Capellan allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 10 hits with five walks in 3.2 innings pitched, earning his second loss of the season.

Round Rock will try to take back the series lead Thursday night against Omaha RHP Heath Phillips. Round Rock scheduled starter Alberto Arias was called up to Houston Wednesday, so the Express starter for Thursday night was yet to be announced.
