Raptors 905 (9-7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, returned to the win column with a 124-123 victory Sunday afternoon against the Westchester Knicks (6-11). The 905 were led by Ron Harper Jr. who contributed 23 points, three rebounds, and four assists while Daquan Jefferies led the Knicks with a game-high 30 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block.
The Raptors 905 took control of the game from tip-off, taking an early 14-8 lead and holding onto the six-point advantage as they ended the quarter 30-24. Westchester fought back in the second quarter, going on an 8-0 run to take the lead halfway through the second. The 905 were able to regain the two-point lead as the half came to a close.
Coming out ofhalftime, thetwo teams exchanged baskets and leads before tying the game up at 88 points. The Knicks closed the third quarter on a 6-0 run entering the final frame. Down six, the 905 mounted their comeback bid, outscoring the Knicks 36-29 and coming away with the victory on the road.
The 905 were paced by Jeff Dowtin Jr. who put up 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals, and a block in Westchester. The Knicks saw complementary scoring from James Akinjo who added 20 points, two rebounds, nine assists, and a steal in the loss.
The two teams meet again tomorrow evening to complete their season series, tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm.
