Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (6-10) used a power performance from Grant Riller and James Banks III to snuff out G League Ignite (7-11) 107-89 in front of a sold-out Comerica Center crowd.
James Banks III grabbed the first basket early for Texas but Ignite responded quickly to set the tone for a close quarter. The first ended on three trips to the line with Texas taking two of those and a one-point advantage at the buzzer. After a combined 20-point first quarter, Banks and Riller were quieter in the second as Mojave King led Ignite's path to their largest lead of the night (+11). The Legends regained control five minutes into the third and dominated the second half, holding the visitors to 33 points and nearly doubling their output 26-14 in the fourth.
Riller led all scorers with 31 points while Banks stuffed the stat sheet with a double-double of 18 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks. Tyler Dorsey came off the bench for 17 points, 6 rebounds, and Amauri Hardy finished with 11 points and a game-high 7 assists.
King powered Ignite with 26 points, 7 rebounds while Leonard Miller grabbed his third straight double-double of 15 points, 14 rebounds.
The Legends take a two-game trip to California before the All-Star break, taking on the Ontario Clippers Tuesday at 11:00am CT and the Santa Cruz Warriors Wednesday at 9:00pm CT.
