Washington Wild Things News Release
WASHINGTON, PA - The Washington Wild Things announced that 84 Lumber will be the presenting sponsor of the 2013 Frontier League All Star Game and festivities.
The All Star Festivities will feature a league bowling tournament (to be held at The Meadows), a softball clinic and game with the Akron Racers (professional women's softball team), the Home Run Derby, a community activity with Habitat for Humanity, shopping, backstretch tours at the Meadows, golfing, several receptions, a luncheon and much more.
"We couldn't be happier about having 84 Lumber come on board for this event," said Wild Things' owner, Stuart Williams. "They, of course, are a keystone to this area and have made huge contributions to the economic growth with home construction and renovation. We are honored to partner with them in an effort to impact the future economic vitality of our region."
According to 84 Lumber's Jim Krejci, "84 Lumber and the Hardy family have long supported local communities and their sports teams. Grassroots efforts are important part of reaching out in the community, and nothing is more grassroots than minor league baseball. We are proud to sponsor the Frontier League All-Star Game and support a great Washington County sports team and business in the Washington Wild Things."
The Wild Things are employing as much local flavor as possible for the All Star Week activities. "We consider it to be a part of our mission to showcase the many things Washington County has to offer," added Williams. "We're very proud of our roots here, and we want to feature the great attractions and businesses our area has to offer."
The Frontier League's All Star Week festivities get underway on Monday evening when guests will arrive and attend a reception. On Tuesday and Wednesday prior to the home run derby and the All Star game (respectively), the players will be treated to bowling, golf, sight seeing, shopping, and a backstretch tour at The Meadows Racetrack.
