
7 Run 7th Give The 'Frogs a 9-1 Win

Frogville, WI - Mark Garcia had to pitch around a number of jams for the Bullfrogs on Sunday afternoon, but he only gave up only one run over 6.1 innings. Kyle Lindquist then came in for the save throwing 2.2 innings out of the bulllpen to give Green Bay the 9-1 win over the Waterloo Bucks in the two-game series sweep.
Green Bay had six hits and seven runs in the seventh inning to bust the game open after the Bucks starter Shane Broyles left the game. Duncan McAlpine and Ty Filliben each had an infield single sandwiched around a sac bunt by Nik Balog who reached first when the throw went to second base and was late. Steven Halcomb earned a bases loaded walk for his second RBI of the day. With one out Billy Moon hit the first ball out of the infield by the 'Frogs in the inning with the infield in to give the Bullfrogs their fourth run of the frame. Mitch Haniger followed that with a two-RBI double to make it 8-1. Paul Hoenecke then hit a double of his own to give Green Bay the 9-1 lead.
Haniger went 2-4 with three RBI. Hoenecke hit a double and drove in a run for the second straight game. The Bullfrogs gave up just one run in the two game series. That tally came across in the second inning to give the Bucks a 1-0 lead at the time. After a pair of singles and a sacrifice bunt, Jordan Adams hit an RBI fielder's choice.
Green Bay scored 9 unanswered runs after the second inning. They got on the board first in the third inning. Ty Filliben led the inning off with a walk and then stole second base. Halcomb would drive him in with the 'Frogs' first hit of the game. In the fourth inning Haniger gave Green Bay the lead for good with a solo home run.
Green Bay improves to 18-12 on the year. At the end of the game the Bullfrogs moved 1.5 games back of the Madison Mallards who host the Battle Creek Bombers on Sunday evening. Green Bay will open their last series of the first half on July 4th with a 3:05 pm game at the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters who are in last place in the South Division.
