
Lunkers Pick up Win over Stingers 7-4

The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers closed out their four-game homestand with a win as they defeated the Willmar Stingers 7-4 on Sunday afternoon at Mills Field. Charlie Henderson picked up his first win of the season for the Lunkers. He went five innings, giving up two runs and striking out eight. After three innings of relief from James Farris, Ray Black came on in the 9th inning to record his first save of the season for the Lunkers.
Vince Bruno collected two hits and an RBI from the leadoff spot this afternoon. Bruno almost had another hit and RBI if it weren't for a diving catch from Willmar second baseman Rob Elliott.
John Haberman takes the loss for the Willmar as he went four innings and gave up four runs.
The Lunkers are in Thunder Bay to begin a three-game series with the Border Cats starting on Monday. First pitch is set for 6:05 CT. Kye Winter gets the start for the Lunkers.
