Ottawa 67's News Release

OTTAWA, ON - Another spirited comeback by the Ottawa 67's fell just short on Saturday night as the Barber Polls fell 9-6 to the Owen Sound Attack.

The road loss halts Ottawa's winning streak at six games, though this one could have gone either way after the 67's came back from an early 3-0 deficit. But in the end, an offensive breakout by Owen Sound in the third period put the game out of reach for Ottawa.

After falling behind 3-0 in the first period, the 67's found their legs in the second period with goals from Graeme Clarke and Sasha Chmelevski pulling Ottawa to within a goal of the Attack.

Ottawa would again respond after Alan Lyszczarczyk's second of the game made it 4-2 for the Attack, as Tye Felhaber continued his run of hot play with his 24th of the year to close the gap once again.

Oliver True's sixth of the year pulled briefly pulled Ottawa even early in the third, only to have Maksim Sushko restore Owen Sound's lead two minutes later. Kevin Hancock added some insurance for the Attack at the 12:15 mark of the third period. Austen Keating and Travis Barron scored late for Ottawa, while Nick Suzuki added a pair of third-period goals for Owen Sound.

Cedrick Andree made 25 saves for Ottawa after coming into the game midway through the first period. Former 67's goalie Olivier Lafreniere made 26 stops for Owen Sound.

The 67's return home to close out the long weekend against the Kitchener Rangers for Monday's Family Day game at the Arena at TD Place (2 p.m.).

Sasha Chmelevski's goal was his team-leading 29th of the season.
