Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire 66ers won for the third time in four games against the Quakes this week, ripping off a 9-2 win over Rancho Cucamonga on Friday night at San Manuel Stadium.
After taking an early 1-0 lead in the first on a Gaige Howard two-out RBI single, Rancho conceded nine straight runs, as the 66ers blew it open.
Rancho starter Jerming Rosario gave up the tying run in the first, then gave up the lead in the third, as Jeremy Arocho doubled home two to give Inland Empire the lead for good at 3-1.
In the fourth, Rosario (2-6) walked the first three hitters he faced and would be removed in favor of Osvanni Gutierrez. A total of six runs scored in the fourth as Inland broke it open, taking a 9-1 lead.
Rancho (5-8, 41-38) looks to bounce back on Saturday, sending River Ryan (1-1) to the mound against Inland Empire right-hander Chase Chaney (1-2) at 7:05pm.
