TULSA, Okla., Nov. 18, 2010 - The Tulsa 66ers, proud affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, will tip off the 2010-11 D-League season on the road with back-to-back games against the Bakersfield Jam this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19th and 20th. Both games are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. CST inside the Jam Events Center.

Tulsa, who advanced to the D-League finals last season, is led by second-year head coach Nate Tibbetts.

"Our team is very excited to get the season underway this weekend," Tulsa 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said. "We will have to play hard and stick to our principles and take it one game at a time. We can't worry about a back-to-back, our focus is on Friday night's game."

Tulsa returns four players from last season's roster, including Latavious Williams, Larry Owens, Marcus Lewis and Zabian Dowdell. Also on the opening weekend roster are 2010 draft picks Perry Stevenson (20th overall) and Brandon Brooks (84th overall), as well as Tweety Carter, Elijah Millsap, Jerome Dyson and Robert Vaden.

This weekend's contests will mark the first of 15 back-to-back sets for the 66ers this season.

The 66ers hold a 5-4 lead over the Jam in the all-time series. Last season, Tulsa matched up with Bakersfield twice, dropping both contests on the road. The 66ers last beat the Jam on March 29, 2009 in Tulsa by a 98-91 final score.

The 66ers will kick off their home slate next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 26th and 27th with back-to-back contests against the Iowa Energy.
