66ers Fall to Energy

TULSA, Okla., March 7, 2013 - Oklahoma City Thunder assignee Daniel Orton scored a career-high 30 points with nine points and three blocks but the Tulsa 66ers fell to the Iowa Energy, 103-95, on Thursday at the SpiritBank Event Center.

Fellow Oklahoma City assignee DeAndre Liggins posted 14 points and seven rebounds.

Andy Rautins scored 13 points with five rebounds and five assists. Rautins sunk a pair of 3-pointers to surpass Moses Ehambe for the franchise's single-season record for 3-point field goals. His season total now stands at 119.

Rasual Butler added 16 points, six boards and four assists and Chris Quinn collected 10 points, five assists and three rebounds.

The 66ers (21-16) pulled down 40 rebounds and dished out 21 assists.

Iowa (9-31) was led by Alex Ruoff (19 points) and Chris Wrght (18 points).

Thursday's early start accommodated a crowd of 2,695 fans for Tulsa's annual Kids Day. Students from 32 Oklahoma schools cheered on the 66ers while learning about active and healthy living through in-game promotions and presentations.

The 66ers and Energy square off again on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 in Des Moines, Iowa. The game will be aired live on YouTube and Tulsa66ers.com.
