51s HOST COLORADO SPRINGS IN FOUR-GAME HOME STAND (JUNE 19-22); BUDWEISER DOLLAR BEER NIGHT ON THURSDAY; 51s CAR SUNSHADE NIGHT/CARL'S JR. FAMILY NIGHT ON FRIDAY
LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will return to Cashman Field for a brief four-game home stand against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, from Tuesday-Friday, June 19-22, with all games at 7:11 p.m.
The 51s, under first-year manager Lorenzo Bundy, are concluding an eight-game road trip in Sacramento, Calif., against the River Cats on Sunday afternoon. Las Vegas has a record of 30-38 in the Pacific Southern Division and trail first-place Sacramento by 8 ½ games. The PCL has a scheduled off day on Monday, June 18.
Game two of the series on Wednesday will feature Dollar Hot Dog Night. The Thursday contest will feature Budweiser Dollar Beer Night. Every Thursday home game throughout the season will feature Dollar Beer Night.
The series finale on Friday against the Sky Sox will feature a promotional giveaway item for fans to place in their cars during the hot summer months. 51s Car Sunshade Night, sponsored by Supercuts, will be given out to the first 2,500 fans in attendance.
The 51s organization and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) will also be a sponsoring a blood drive with United Blood Services prior to Friday's series finale from 4 to 7 p.m. Baseball fans are encouraged to participate and look for the Bloodmobile near the Cashman Field Ticket Box Office. Summer is one of the more difficult times due to a decline in blood donations, yet, the usage remains constant. Last June, 7,033 units of blood were used. As of May 18, 2007, Blood Services is scheduled to collect 6,414 units of blood. The community needs your help covering this deficit! The Sky Sox have two players on their roster that are ranked in Baseball America's Top-10 prospect list for the Rockies: Third baseman Ian Stewart (No. 5) and right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez (No. 6).
The 51s will embark on a brief four-game road trip to Fresno, Calif. to face the Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, from Saturday-Tuesday, June 23-26.
Tickets for all 51s home games can be purchased at the Cashman Field Box Office. The box office is open Monday-Friday from Noon to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased through TicketMaster (474-4000, www.ticketmaster.com). TicketMaster outlets are located at selected Smith's Food & Drug, Ritmo Latino and Macy's, located at The Fashion Show & The Galleria Mall.
The individual game tickets for the 72-game home season are priced at $8.00 (general admission), $9.00 (reserved), $11.00 (plaza) and $13 (field). The traditional $2.00 discount for Military personnel is offered on plaza, reserved and G.A. seats throughout the season except for the holiday fireworks shows on June 30 & July 3. All tickets for the two "Holiday Fireworks Shows" are $13.00.
