Wenatchee AppleSox News Release

(Wenatchee, Wash.) - Just shy of the mid-way point of the season, Wenatchee carries an 18-3 record, first place in the West Coast League's East Division and a number four national ranking according to Perfect Game USA. But it doesn't end there. The Sox also have the WCL's second-highest team batting average (.299) and a 2.83 team ERA.

They'll put both to the test tonight at 7:05 when they play host to the Walla Walla Sweets (10-14) for the first of a four game set. The series will be split between Wenatchee and Walla Walla, with the AppleSox hosting the first two games and the Sweets hosting the second two.

Wenatchee has won seven straight league contests and 11 straight games overall. Walla Walla had won three straight before dropping the second game of a two-game set with Bellingham.

Although this is a new season with new players, there could be a little bad blood between the two squads. The Sweets knocked Wenatchee out of the WCL playoffs last season before falling to Corvallis in the championship.

Purchase your tickets at www.applesox.com or in advance at the Town Toyota Center box office. General admission tickets will also be available at the Paul Thomas, Sr. Baseball Stadium ticket booth, which opens one hour prior to game time.
