(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires, in conjunction with Home Hardware and the Windsor and Essex County Rotary Clubs, are proud to announce that 2,800 pounds of non-perishable goods were collected at the 2010 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects "Restock the Shelves" Can Drive on January 20, 2010. Prior to the commencement of the 2010 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects game on January 20th, volunteers from the Windsor and Essex County Rotary Clubs collected non-perishable food items from fans as they arrived to the game. All food items collected at the game were redistributed to local food banks throughout Windsor and Essex County.

Windsor Spitfires President and Head Coach Bob Boughner said, "The Windsor Spitfires would like to thank the best fans in the CHL for supporting the "Restock the Shelves" Can Drive by bringing in over a ton of food on January 20th. It's an honour for the Windsor Spitfires to be involved in successful community initiatives such as this one and our fans deserve all the credit for stepping up and supporting those in need from our local area. The team would also like to thank Home Hardware for their support of not only this initiative but also the entire 2010 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects event and to the Windsor and Essex County Rotary Clubs for their continued assistance in helping us with our community based programs."

"It was an honour to help bring the 2010 CHL/NHL Home Hardware Top Prospects event to our hometown in Windsor," said Ryan Seguin, Dealer-Owner of Countryside Home Hardware. "As a local Home Hardware Dealer, I am proud of our community and glad that this major Canadian tradition helped give back to the community in such a big way."
