Overview: Grace Berger became the first player from Indiana University selected in the first round of the WNBA Draft when the Fever took Berger with the No. 7 overall pick in 2023. The winningest player in program history ended her first season with the Fever as a member of the Associated Press All-Rookie Team after averaging 4.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 14.6 minutes per contest in 36 games played. Berger led all rookies in 3-point field goal percentage shooting 47.1 percent (16-of-34) and finished fifth in field goal percentage shooting 44.9 percent (57-of-127). She finished with the third best assist/turnover ratio among first-year players (1.81) and handed out the fifth most assists among rookies (67) this season.

Notable Performances:

July 12: Against the New York Liberty at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Berger finished with career-high totals of 15 points, seven rebounds, three steals and 36 minutes in the overtime loss.

July 27: At the Los Angeles Sparks, Berger added 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go along with three assists.

August 8: When the Sparks returned to Indianapolis, Berger finished with 14 points on a career-best six made field goals.

August 24: In a home win against the Seattle Storm, Berger tied a career-best six made field goals to finish with 14 points.

August 27: Berger added 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting against the Atlanta Dream to secure a third consecutive win for Indiana.
