Jan Špunar enjoyed a productive first season with the Winterhawks after being selected in the first round of the 2022 CHL Import Draft. The Olomouc, Czech Republic native went 17-7-2-1 during the regular season with a .908 save percentage and 2.61 goals-against average. Špunar, 18, took over the starter's crease in March ahead of the 2023 WHL Playoffs and now is hopeful to hear his name called at the 2023 NHL Draft.
