2021 Training Camp Announced
August 28, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Kingston Frontenacs News Release
The Kingston Frontenacs are ready to return to action with the start of the 2021 Training Camp on Tuesday, August 31 at the Leon's Centre. This year's camp will consist of on and off ice fitness training, team meetings, practices and head-to-head scrimmages. The three day event will conclude on Thursday, September 2 with preseason exhibition games beginning on September 16th, 2021.
47 players will be attending this year's training camp. Of those players competing for a spot on the Kingston Frontenacs 2021-22 roster are returning players, 2020 and 2021 Ontario Hockey League and Under-18 Priority Selections, and free agent invites. A full list of attending players will be released on the team's website and social media platforms prior to the start of training camp.
This year's scrimmaging teams have been named in honour of past Kingston Frontenacs alumni. The 47 attending players will be split into two teams throughout the 2021 training camp. The two teams will be named Team Robertson (Jason Robertson) and Team Stewart (Dave, Anthony and Chris Stewart).
Jason, Dave, Anthony and Chris all had tremendous careers for the Kingston Frontenacs. Each individual demonstrated incredible leadership, skill and determination while representing the Black & Gold. All three man are shining examples of the intangibles it takes to succeed on and off the ice while playing in the Ontario Hockey League.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Kingston Frontenacs have made the difficult decision to keep this year's training camp closed to the general public. Approved spectators will be limited to the family of the players as well as Frontenacs staff, scouts, and billet families. Our fans will be able to follow training camp on the Kingston Frontenacs social media platforms and team website (www.kingstonfrontenacs.com).
The first chance fans will have to see the Kingston Frontenacs hit the ice is during our first home preseason exhibition game on Saturday, September 18 at the Leon's Centre against the Ottawa 67's.
