
2009 Tour of Champions Touches the Windsor and Essex County Communities

(Windsor) The 2009 Spitfire Community Tour of Champions, presented by Tim Hortons is off to a great start, having visited 33 locations since it was introduced on June 16. Headed by Spitfire players Harry Young and Eric Wellwood, the Tour of Champions visited 22 schools and 11 local organizations and businesses. During their visits to schools, Harry and Eric spoke to students about the team's journey to capturing the MasterCard Memorial Cup and also stressed the value of hard work and determination in the achievement of one's goals in life. In their visits to local organizations and businesses, they took pictures with various fans and also signed autographs as requested.
The Windsor Spitfires will continue to visit local organizations this summer. The team is also proud to announce four major public events to be visited by the team in the upcoming weeks. The team encourages people throughout the Windsor and Essex County area to attend any or all of the events listed below:
Bluesfest at the Riverfront in Downtown Windsor
