The Sarasota Reds received three All-Star selections for the South Division squad after the voting was completed by Florida State League managers, official scorers and media representatives from around the league.

When Alonso left the Florida State League, he ranked in the top five in homeruns (7) and RBI (37), as well as the top 10 in batting average at .302. Yonder entered the 2009 season, his first full professional season, rated the organizations #1 overall prospect rated by Baseball America. Alonso was the Reds first round selection (7th overall) in the 2008 first-year player draft out of the University of Miami.

Pitcher Enerio Del Rosario will be the only Sarasota Reds player present at the 2009 Florida State League All-Star Game. This selection marks the first of his professional career. Del Rosario has been outstanding out of the bullpen for the Reds, throwing 28.1 innings over 14 games with a team low 1.27 ERA. Enerio has picked up two wins (2-1 overall) while striking out 22, and holding opposing batters to a .208 average. Del Rosario was signed by the Reds as a free agent in May of 2005, and currently resides in El Seibo, DR during the off season.

Pitcher Zach Stewart also earns his first All-Star selection during his first full professional season. Prior to being promoted to Double-A Carolina last month, Stewart was 1-1 with a 2.13 ERA over seven games pitched. All seven of Stewart's appearances were starts, including a complete game on May 5th when he allowed just one run on five hits versus the Jupiter Hammerheads. Zach allowed just 10 earned runs over 42.1 innings, striking out 32, while allowing only eight walks. Stewart was selected in the third round of the 2008 first-year player draft out of Texas Tech University.
