
2008 Rage at the Cage Arrives at the Birdcage

Sioux Falls, SD (June 30, 2008) - The Sioux Falls Canaries have announced the second annual Rage at the Cage to be held from Tuesday July 1st through Sunday July 13th. The event will feature amateur baseball teams from around the Sioux Falls area competing in America's favorite pastime.
"With the Canaries on the road for much of the first two weeks in July, it gives area baseball fans a chance to see top amateur teams play at the Birdcage," said Canaries Assistant General Manager Larry McKenney.
The games will be open to the public, and will cost just $5 for adults and $4 for children under 12. The event will be sponsored by the Gateway Lounge this season.
Play begins on Tuesday July 1st with Renner/Newcastle vs. Garretson starting at 6:00 p.m., with Canton vs. Colman to follow at approximately 8:00 p.m. Other teams taking part in the festivities include: Renner Roadrunners, Brookings, Dell Rapids Blue Ribbon, and Brandon. A complete list of teams and their schedule is listed below.
This year's event will feature the Corn Belt conference vs. the Sioux Empire conference in an All-Star game which will take place at 11:00 a.m. on July 13th, with a Canaries game to follow at 2:00 p.m. against the Sioux City Explorers. Tickets for the All-Star game will be regular Canaries ticket prices, as they will get you into the Canaries game to follow.
