With the team's 53-47 win over the Sioux City Bandits on May 10th, the BEEF have clinched a playoff berth for the ninth time in nine seasons. The last month of the regular season promises to be intense as the BEEF continue their march toward a possible conference title and home-field advantage for the playoffs. The playoffs will begin June 21, the week following the end of the regular season, and more information will be announced when it becomes available.

JOHNSON TWINS CELEBRATE 21st BIRTHDAY AND 5th YEAR WITH TEAM On Wednesday, Travis and Trevor Johnson celebrated their 21st birthday. The twins are in the midst of their fifth season with the team, having began their careers as ball boys. This season, the Johnsons have taken roles in the front office by taking on the challenge of sales and also diving into football operations as well. In addition to their new duties, they are still very involved with the BEEF's game day operations, ensuring that everything is ready to go from national anthem singers to entertainment to the game day promotions. The twins are also active in their home community of Bellevue where they serve as assistant football coaches at Bellevue West High School (their alma mater) and also coach youth basketball in the Bellevue Junior Sports Association. Travis and Trevor are continuing their studies in Sports Management at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha with hopes of securing full-time employment in the field upon their graduation. Happy Birthday, boys, and thank you for your years of service to the Omaha BEEF.

BLEED FOR THE BEEF UPDATE

The "Bleed for the BEEF" campaign is doing extremely well. As of May 5th, over 8,100 donations have been made to the American Red Cross. At last weekend's game against Billings, the team honored representatives from the Red Cross and donors who have given blood so far. The team continues to invite their fans as well as the general public to donate blood up until the campaign ends on May 31st. To be able to donate, donors must meet the following qualifications: must be at least 17 years old (16 in Nebraska with a signed Red Cross parental/guardian consent form), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. During the campaign, anyone who donates will receive a 2-for-1 ticket voucher to be used at any of the team's remaining home games this season. For more information about blood donation, please contact the Red Cross at 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or log on to www.givebloodgivelife.org.

LEBEDA NAMED INDOOR FOOTBALL FAN SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ricky Lebeda was named IndoorFootballFan.com Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts against the Sioux City Bandits. In the May 10th game against Sioux City, Lebeda, an Omaha native went two-of-three on field goals (50 and 44 yards) and five-of-seven on extra points to contribute 11 points to the BEEF's 53-47 win over the Bandits. Lebeda became the third BEEF player to be recognized by IndoorFootballFan.com this season joining teammates Diezeas Calbert and Dustin Creager. In this, his first season of indoor football, Lebeda has made 17 of 38 field goals and 42 of 55 extra points for a total of 93 points. The 17 field goals and 93 points are both leading the UIF. Lebeda also has the longest field goal in the league this season with his 56-yard boot against the Billings Outlaws in Week 1.
