
United Indoor Football Week Twelve Preview

Omaha, NE - Week twelve of the United Indoor Football season offers three games on the slate this weekend. The race for the playoffs is heating up with just three weeks remaining. The two conferences continue to be very competitive as the regular season winds down. This weekend brings the third games of the season between the six teams. In every instance, it will be the rubber match as the teams have split the first two. The games are as follows: the Wild welcome the Rage, the Bandits play host to the Ice and the Outlaws face off with the Storm.
RIVERCITY (3-7) vs. WICHITA (2-8)
At Wichita, KS
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central
The Wichita Wild welcome the RiverCity Rage to the Kansas Coliseum Saturday evening. The teams have played twice earlier this season with the road team winning both match-ups. Wichita is coming off a 57-14 defeat at the hands of the Sioux Falls Storm last Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena. The Wild was led by defensive back Eric Washington and wide receiver Chris Williams. Washington made 2.5 tackles, ½ a tackle for loss and also two interceptions. Williams caught a team-high five passes for 34 yards and two touchdowns while also returning two kicks for 36 yards. The Rage are coming off a 32-30 loss to the Colorado Ice last Saturday at the Budweiser Events Center at the Ranch. Leading the way for RiverCity were wide receiver Hurtis Chinn and defensive lineman Jamal Cooper. Chinn tallied 251 all-purpose yards (35 receiving and 216 kickoff returns). Cooper made a team-high 8.5 tackles (seven solo and three assisted) and also had a tackle for loss and a sack.
COLORADO (4-6) vs. SIOUX CITY (3-7)
At Sioux City, IA
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Central
The Sioux City Bandits will host the Colorado Ice Saturday evening at the Tyson Events Center. The teams have split their previous two meetings with each team winning at home. Sioux City is coming off a 76-73 loss to the Bloomington Extreme last Saturday evening in Bloomington. Leading the way for the Bandits were defensive back Chad Husted and quarterback Chad Kapanui. Husted made a team-high 8.5 tackles (six solo, five assisted) to lead the defense. Kapanui had 272 yards of total offense (four rushing and 268 passing) and passed for six touchdowns. The Ice are coming off a 32-30 win over the RiverCity Rage last Saturday at home. Leading the way for Colorado were running back Terry Washington and linebacker Ryan Palmer. Washington led the team with his 84 rushing yards and a touchdown; he also caught two passes for 33 yards. Palmer led the defense with a team-high seven tackles (six solo, two assisted) and 2.5 tackles for loss.
SIOUX FALLS (8-2) vs. BILLINGS (7-3)
At Billings, MT
Saturday, 7:05 p.m. Mountain
The Billings Outlaws will face off with the Sioux Falls Storm Saturday evening at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. The teams have played twice already this season as both times the home team won. Billings comes into the game having defeated the Omaha Beef 61-40 last Saturday evening at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The Outlaws were led by quarterback Chris Dixon and linebacker Travis Salter. Dixon tallied 298 yards of total offense (50 rushing and 247 passing) and had a hand in eight total touchdowns (one rushing and seven passing). Salter made a team-high 10.5 tackles (nine solo, three assisted), two tackles for loss and a sack and also recovered a fumble. The Storm head to Billings winners of six in a row, the last of which was a 57-14 win over the Wichita Wild 57-14 last Saturday evening at the Sioux Falls Arena. Leading the way for Sioux Falls were quarterback Terrance Bryant and the team's defense. Bryant accumulated 140 yards of total offense (21 rushing and 119 passing) and threw two touchdown passes to lead the offense. The Storm's defense tallied nine tackles for loss, five sacks; four pass break ups, three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and a blocked kick.

Wichita 2-8 Colorado 4-6
At the conclusion of the UIF regular season and playoffs, the league's United Bowl champion will host the champion of the Intense Football League in the National Indoor Football Bowl Championship Game (NIBC) on July 26. The game is part of a two-year partnership between United Indoor Football and the Intense Football League. The two league champions will meet again in a second NIBC in 2009 at the home of the Intense Football League champion.
