Rage Head to Wichita for Crucial Game

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football team heads to Wichita, KS to take on the Wild this weekend in a crucial game for both teams. With just four weeks remaining in the United Indoor Football League season, the Rage hold the final playoff spot in the Eastern Division with Wichita just one game back. Each team has won on the other's home turf this season making this weekend's game critical for playoff position.
"Right now we're in," said Rage Head Coach Ken Stills. "We need this game to have the tie-breaker over Wichita if it comes down to that. Our playoffs start now. We need to keep pace with (second place) Sioux City and stay ahead of the Wild. Our next three games are against the teams in our division, so we have it all right in front of us."
Each of the two previous meetings between these clubs have been close, low scoring affairs. The Rage won the first meeting, 26-25, in Wichita on March 15th and the Wild returned the favor, defeating the Rage 22-15 at the Family Arena on April 19th. This game could come down to which team's outstanding defense performs better. The Wild currently rank second in the UIF in total defense (200 yards per game) with the Rage just behind in fourth (217.6 per).
"I am expecting to tough, close, low scoring game," added Stills. "They have a really good defense and we have been leaning on ours all season. They have played us tough twice already and I don't expect anything less this week. We really need our defense to step up again for us on Saturday."
The Rage return home next Saturday as they welcome the first place Bloomington Extreme to the Family Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:00 with gates opening at 6:00. The Rage have put together a new ticket campaign for underprivileged children in the area and are asking their corporate partners or individuals to purchase tickets that will in turn be donated to the Rage Children's Charities for that game.
