San Diego Riptide News Release

February 4, 2004 - San Diego–Mouse Davis begins his San Diego Riptide coaching career as the 'Tide open their third af2 season April 3rd at the Arkansas Twisters, coached by former Charger star Gary Anderson. The Riptide home faithful will get their first chance to see the new Riptide April 9th as they host the Green Bay Blizzard. The Blizzard and the Riptide played two thrilling last minute games last year each team winning on their home turf. The Riptide have several highlights on the 2004 schedule, most notably four matchups against former Head Coach Cree Morris' Central Valley (Fresno) Coyotes. The first Riptide-Coyotes encounter is Friday April 23rd at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Other great games include the two-time af2 Champion Quad City Steamwheelers in San Diego on May 22. In four af2 seasons, Quad City has lost only 10 times.

The Riptide will compete in the very tough West Division again playing in-state rivals Bakersfield and Central Valley as well as four tough matchups against defending West Division champion Hawaii.
