Manchester Wolves News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. (February 4, 2004) - The Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire's exciting new professional football team, announced their inaugural season schedule today and will begin the year with a road game at Quad City (Steamwheelers) on Saturday, April 3.
A week later New Hampshire football fans get to see their team in action up close as the Wolves play their home opener against the Steamwheelers on Saturday, April 10 at the Verizon Wireless Arena. That night will truly be historic as the Manchester Wolves host the first arena football game ever played at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
The Wolves enter their first season of af2 action in the granite state with lofty expectations under the direction of new Head Coach Rik Richards. Richards comes to the area with proven arena football credentials. Last year in his first season as an af2 head coach, Richards guided the Charleston Swamp Foxes to a franchise-best 9-7 record. He and his staff are in the process of assembling a potent mixture of veteran talent and young playmakers that will be the foundation for a winning Wolves football team in 2004.
All eight Wolves home games, which will be featured mainly on Friday nights, kick-off at 7:30 PM at the Verizon Wireless Arena.
Manchester's 2004 schedule consists mainly of three, three-game series (home/away) against Northeast Division rivals, Albany, Cape Fear and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Those matchups will weigh heavily on the Wolves' postseason promises. This season the Wolves will also play American Conference opponents Birmingham (home) and Macon (away) of the South Division and Memphis (home) of the Mid-South Division. Manchester's two other opponents on the 2004 slate are the Green Bay Blizzard and Louisville Fire, both members of the National Conference.
Don't miss the Wolves first season of hard-hitting action in New Hampshire. Season ticket packages for the Wolves are available for dream, lower bowl and upper bowl seats and start as low as $112.
