RALSTON, Neb. - The Lincoln Stars (10-21-2) started strong, but were unable to come away with two points against the Omaha Lancers (21-15-1) as Omaha won 3-2 at Ralston Arena on Friday night.

Nikolai Mayorov found the back of the net for the fourth consecutive game, ripping a one-timer from the right circle at 4:30. Clay Hanus extended his point streak to three games with the primary assist while Cross Hanas picked up a point in his fifth straight contest with the secondary apple.

Mayorov notched his team-leading seventh goal of the season with the marker. Lincoln held the lead for just about two minutes as Zach Dubinsky responded with a power-play goal of his own for the Lancers at 6:28.

Dubinsky, the former Star (2017-19), tapped home his second of the period at 10:58. After one frame, the Stars were down 2-1 while being outshot 10-5.

TJ Schweighardt continued the attack for Omaha 53 seconds into the second period, picking a corner on Ryan Ouellette. With the score now 3-1, the game got out of hand from a penalty standpoint. Jack Horbach and Tyler Carpenter's game misconducts at 6:29 highlighted the hectic frame as both teams combined for 68 penalty minutes. Lincoln was outshot 12-3 in the second stanza.

The whistles were active once again in the third period as Dominic James and Ryan Conroy were given game misconducts at 3:58. Mayorov was ejected from the game at 4:38 of the third period after a five-minute kneeing penalty was assessed to him paired with a game misconduct. Lincoln killed it off successfully.

Lincoln was awarded their second power play of the game at 12:50 and the visitors took advantage once again. The Stars worked the puck at the top of the umbrella from Hanas to Hanus to Jack O'Leary and back to Hanus for a good look from the right point. Hanus found the back of the net with the wrister, giving him his third goal of the season at 13:38.

The Stars had a couple of chances in the dying minutes, but the Lancers held on for the win. Zach Dubinsky was given a game misconduct for slashing after the final horn while Nick Perna was picked up a game misconduct for leaving the bench. As the dust settled, Omaha registered 112 penalty minutes while Lincoln racked up 90.

The Stars were 2-for-2 on the power play and 6-for-7 on the penalty kill. Ouellette stopped 27 of 30 shots while Jakub Dobes allowed two goals on 13 shots.

Lincoln is now winless in its last seven games (0-6-1).
