Seven different players scored goals in the Green Bay Gamblers 7-3 win over the Youngstown Phantoms on Saturday at the Resch Center. The Gamblers improved to
21-10-2 on the 2020-21 campaign.
Green Bay jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening 5-minutes on John Mittelstadt (3:45) and Ryan Kirwan (4:43) goals. Jesse Tucker (8:26) added a power play goal in the first period. Two teams exchanged goals in the 2nd period, Mason Lohrei (15:41) tallying for the Gamblers.
Youngstown made it a 4-3 game early in the 3rd period. Sawyer Scholl (16:43), Jackson Kunz (18:15/Empty net) and Alex Nordstrom (18:47) scored goals in the final 4-minutes to put the game out of reach.
Matt Davis turned aside 29 shots for his second win on the weekend. On the year, Davis is 15-6-1.
Two teams round out their three-game weekend series tomorrow afternoon at the Resch Center. Start time, 3:05 PM. Box office opens at 10:00 AM. Kids tickets (14 and under) just $10.
