Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - Cyclists, skiers, runners, paddlers, and walkers take turns enjoying the hard-, soft-, and water trail system that crisscrosses Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and other local communities; during the month of April, you can help enhance these outdoor opportunities by donating to the Cedar Valley Trails Partnership through the $16.50 Campaign, presented by Slumberland Furniture, the Waterloo Black Hawks, and 1650 "The Fan," KCNZ-AM.
For nearly 30 years, the Cedar Valley Trails Partnership has promoted the expansion, maintenance, and safe use of area trails. With hundreds of members, CVTP has operated as an advocate for this community amenity, which is often cited among the leading quality-of-life resources in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area. The group also organizes trail activities like this month's Earth Day Trail Clean Up on April 23rd. Donations to CVTP will help with efforts ranging from large capital projects to everyday enhancements like benches, bike racks, trail signs, water fountains, and restrooms.
"With more than 120 miles of paved trails, this is something that is really special about the Cedar Valley," said Black Hawks President of Business Operations Joe Greene. "First and foremost, we encourage Black Hawks fans to make the most of our trail system, and also to consider a donation that will help CVTP make this point of pride for our community even better in the years ahead."
The Waterloo Black Hawks, Slumberland Furniture, and 1650 The Fan ask you to consider a donation of $16.50 for the Cedar Valley Trails Partnership during the month of April. The goal is for 100 Black Hawks fans and KCNZ listeners to contribute that amount this month. When those small amounts are pooled together, they can make a big difference. The Black Hawks are also encouraging fans to enjoy local trails during the next few weeks as part of the recently announced "Black Hawks Bike Crawl."
