15 Players with Stars Experience on NBA Opening Night Rosters

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official GLeague affiliate of the Utah Jazz, is proud to announce that as the NBA season kicked off, the team has 15 former players representing on NBA opening night rosters. Five players from the 2022-23 Stars roster, including Ochai Agbaji, Johnny Juzang, and Micah Potter on the Jazz, as well as Marques Bolden (Milwaukee) and Nate Williams (Houston), are starting the season with NBA teams.

The Jazz opening night roster features nine players with G League experience: Josh Christopher, Jordan Clarkson, Kris Dunn, Talen Horton-Tucker, Luka Samanic, and Omer Yurtseven in addition to Agbaji, Juzang, and Potter.

2022-23 Stars Head Coach Scott Morrison, recently joined Will Hardy's staff as an assistant coach for this season, is one of six Jazz assistant coaches with G League coaching experience and one of three former G League head coaches. The five others include: Jason Terry (Head Coach, Grand Rapids Gold), Mike Williams (Head Coach, Capital City Go-Go), Evan Bradds (Assistant Coach, Maine Red Claws), Lamar Skeeter (Basketball Operations Assistant, Canton Charge) and George Rodman (General Manager, Erie Bayhawks; Staff, Maine Red Claws).

The G League set a new record with 50 percent of NBA players, 266 in total, on opening night rosters boasting G League experience, including eight NBA head coaches.

In all-time Stars history, including the Idaho Stampede era, the Stars have accumulated 33 total NBA call-ups as a franchise, including two last season.
