Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
JUPITER, Fla. - Randy Arozarena's first inning three-run home run led the Palm Beach Cardinals (34-21) to a 5-0 win over the Fort Myers Miracle (26-31) on Sunday afternoon. RHP Jake Woodford (W, 3-3) allowed three hits over seven innings to earn the win.
After recording the first two outs in the bottom of the first, LHP Lachlan Wells (L, 2-8) lost a full count battle with Randal Grichuk and walked him followed by a Chris Chinea single. In another full count, Arozarena took Wells deep to give Palm Beach a 3-0 lead.
The Cardinals added to it with a Luke Dykstra RBI-double in the fourth. An inning later, Grichuk picked up his first FSL hit with a triple to score Tommy Edman.
Woodford's three hits were the only baserunners Fort Myers had during the game. The win marks the Cardinals 17th in their last 19 games.
LHP Lewis Thorpe tries to get the Miracle in the win column in the series at 6:30 PM ET on Monday night. He opposes RHP Junior Fernandez.
