March 10, 2026 - Omaha Lancers prospect Gavin Andersen helped Warroad High School claim the 2026 Minnesota High School Hockey 1A State Championship last Saturday at Grand Casino Arena.
Andersen, 17, scored twice in the semifinal game before striking two more times in the title game, including a dramatic, game-tying goal with 46 seconds to go in regulation. Omaha (12-36-2-2) scored the game's first two goals but then surrendered the next four. Fargo (32-15-3-2) evened the game up with less than a minute to go in the first period and then took the lead for good in the opening minute of the second period.

Omaha (12-35-2-2) scored twice in each of the first two periods and never trailed in the weekend opener. The Lancers scored their first shorthanded goal of the season and added a four-on-four tally despite not having a power play. Their penalty kill finished the night 2-for-2.
