Sergeant Slaughter to headline annual armed forces celebration

The Syracuse SkyChiefs announced today that Sergeant Slaughter from World Wrestling Entertainment will make a special appearance at the club's Annual Armed Forces Celebration on Saturday, May 22.

The WWE Hall of Famer will sign autographs and greet fans on the concourse during the SkyChiefs' 2:00 PM game with the Louisville Bats. Autographs will be $5.00 each and pictures will be available for $1.00.

The annual event will begin at 12:00 PM with an extensive display of military vehicles and equipment in the stadium parking lot. The displays will include a Blackhawk helicopter, an F-16 jet, and a Tactical Operation Center.

The 199th Army Band will entertain fans in the parking lot prior to the game and will perform the National Anthem. The colors will be presented by the Syracuse Recruiting Company representing the US Army.

Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Sgt. David Glidden of Task Force Empire Shield, Petty Officer Jacobs of the Syracuse Naval Reserve Center, Senior Airman Clifton Hensley of the 313th Recruiting Squadron, and Lt. Col. Brian Lauri of the New York Air National Guard.
