Hidalgo, Texas - The Iowa Wolves (18-16) were outscored 26-12 in the fourth quarter, dropping their second straight road contest, 119-101, to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (21-17) Friday night at State Farm Arena.

Iowa's 12-point fourth quarter marked its lowest point total of any quarter this season. The Wolves shot 28.6% from the field in the frame.

With the loss, the Wolves drop to 0-2 this season against the Vipers.

Anthony Brown lead the Wolves with 24 points, five rebounds and four assists on the evening. The two-way guard shot 9-of-19 from the field while leading Iowa for the second straight game with a team-high three three-pointers made.

Justin Patton recorded 19 points while shooting 50.0% (7-of-14) from the field. The Minnesota Timberwolves first round draft pick also swatted away three shots, recording his third multiblock game in his last four outings.

Iowa played shorthanded for tonight's contest with only nine players on the active roster.

Amile Jefferson fell just short of another double-double, finishing with 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Jefferson played only three minutes in the first quarter after suffering a cut to the face but returned to action at the start of the second frame.

Shawne Williams led the Wolves bench with an 18-point, seven-rebound performance. It was the NBA journeyman's third game this season posting 18 points or more.

Melo Trimble finished just shy of what would have been his second triple-double in four games, ending the game with 14 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. The former Terrapin was a perfect 6-of-6 from the line in Friday's affair.

As a team, Wolves shot 21-of-24 (87.5%) from the charity strip for the game.

Former Iowa forward Troy Williams scored a game-high 30 points for the Vipers, helping the team snap a two-game losing streak. The second unit shined for Rio Grande Valley with four players scoring in double figures while outscoring Iowa's bench 53-28.
