HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL, November 4, 2017 - The Westchester Knicks (1-0), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, trounced the Windy City Bulls (0-1), the Chicago Bulls' affiliate, in the teams' first game of the 2017-18 season by a final score of 114-102.

Westchester guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes fell just short of a triple-double in his NBA G League debut, finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. NBA veteran Trey Burke also supplied 21 points in the win, adding six assists and three rebounds. New York Knicks Two-Way player Luke Kornet finished his night with 18 points, seven rebounds, and four blocked shots, while fellow Two-Way big Isaiah Hicks contributed 14 points and six rebounds. Forward Nigel Hayes rounded out the double-digit scores from the starting five with 17 points and six rebounds while Billy Garrett gave 10 points off the bench.

Windy City's Antonio Blakeney led all scorers in the game with 35 points, adding seven rebounds and four assists.

Forward Jarrell Eddie finished with 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists, while fellow starter Jaylen Johnson came up with 10 points and seven rebounds. From the bench, Tyler Harris and Diamond Stone provided 13 points each, Stone just short of a double-double with nine rebounds.

It was an action-packed first half of basketball, with neither team leading by more than four points until a Billy Garrett three put the Knicks ahead by seven with 3:30 to go. By the end of the half, Westchester's Rathan-Mayes had already racked up 19 points, seven rebounds, five rebounds, and a "trick shot" bucket upon being fouled, putting his visiting team ahead 63-58 at the half.

The Knicks began the second half on a 10-0 run, stretching its lead to 17. Despite one small run from the Bulls in the fourth quarter, Westchester would savor a comfortable double-digit lead through the remainder of the game shooting 48 percent overall from both the field and from three. The win was a welcomed change for the Knicks, who went 0-4 against Windy City last season.
