Warriors Acquire Alex Hamilton in Trade with Oklahoma City

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired Oklahoma City's 3rd overall selection of the 1st round of the 2016 NBA D-League Draft, Alex Hamilton, in exchange for Xavier Henry. The trade is subject to the successful completion of physicals.

Alex Hamilton, a 6'4" shooting guard out of Louisiana Tech University is one of the program's leading all-time scorers. During his 2015-16 senior season, Hamilton was named the Conference USA Player of the Year, as well as earning all-conference and All-Defensive team honors. He averaged 20.1 points, 6.3 assists, and 5.6 rebounds in 35.9 minutes during his senior campaign.

During the 2015-16 season, Xavier Henry played in 9 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 15.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per contest. Henry was drafted 12th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies and has a combined four years of NBA experience with the Memphis, New Orleans, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 2016-17 season opens at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. against the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
