Syracuse Crunch Ink Forward Anthony Cirelli to ATO

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have inked forward Anthony Cirelli to an amateur try-out contract, Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today. Additionally, the Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned Brian Hart to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL.

Cirelli, 18, skated in 62 contests with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League this year, posting 21 goals and team-high 39 assists to go along with 27 penalty minutes. His 59 points led the team, while he ranked second in goals.

The six-foot, 165-pound Woodbridge, Ontario native has appeared in 130 career OHL games, all with Oshawa, recording 95 points (34g, 61a) from 2014 to 2016. During his rookie campaign in 2014-15, Cirelli netted the game-winning goal for the Generals in overtime to claim the Memorial Cup in a 2-1 victory over the Kelowna Rockets.

Cirelli was selected in the third round, 72nd overall, by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Hart, 22, has skated in 24 games with the Crunch this season, recording two goals and 14 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 33 games with the Swamp Rabbits, notching nine goals and three assists to go along with two penalty minutes.

Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-3, 222-pound forward skated in 37 games with the Harvard Crimson during the 2014-15 season, recording seven goals and 17 points. The Cumberland, Maine native ranked sixth on the Crimson for goals and tied for seventh for points. He played in 98 career games with Harvard over three seasons, recording 18 goals and 50 points.

Hart was drafted in the second round, 53rd overall, by the Lightning in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed to a three-year, two-way NHL contract with the team on June 28.
