Arkansas Travelers News Release
Little Rock, AR - Seattle Mariners left-hander James Paxton will start on the mound tonight, Friday the 26th, for the Arkansas Travelers at Dickey-Stephens Park in the opener of a three game series against the Frisco RoughRiders.
Paxton will be appearing in his first game since being placed on the disabled list May 2 with a strained forearm. He opened the season not allowing a run in his first three starts which helped him garner the American League Player of the Week award for the week ending April 16.
Overall this season, Paxton has posted a 3-0 record with a 1.43 ERA in six starts. He has struck out 45 while walking only 11 in 37.2 innings.
He becomes the third Mariners player to join the Travs for a Major League Rehab assignment this year along with right-handed reliever Steve Cishek and shortstop (and former Trav) Jean Segura.
Gates Open at 6:10pm, First Pitch at 7:10pm Tickets to see Paxton pitch at Dickey-Stephens Park can be purchased online at travs.com, over the phone at 501-664-7559 or at the box office!
