Tacoma Rainiers News Release

TACOMA, Wash. -- Tacoma Rainiers right-handed pitcher Ryan Weber has been named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for May 8-14, the league announced today.

Weber, 26, made one start during the week, tossing seven scoreless innings while allowing just three hits against the New Orleans Baby Cakes on May 8 at Cheney Stadium. He struck out three batters along the way while earning his second win of the season. His strong performance earned Weber a promotion to Seattle on May 13.

At the time of his promotion - after six games in a Rainiers uniform - Weber led the PCL with a 0.85 ERA and 0.76 WHIP, while ranking third on the circuit with a .180 opponent batting average. He held opponents off the scoreboard in four of his six outings to start the year, and allowed more than four hits in just one contest.

Weber is the first Rainiers player to earn a weekly honor this season, and the first Tacoma pitcher to nab the award since Joe Wieland took home Pitcher of the Week for August 29 - September 4 of last season.

Tacoma returns to action on Tuesday, kicking off a four-game series against the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:35 p.m. PT.

Single-game tickets, season ticket options, group outings, and suite packages for the club's 2017 season are available now and can be purchased by calling the Tacoma Rainiers front office at (253) 752-7707, online at www.tacomarainiers.com, or in person at the Cheney Stadium Box Office.
