Red Claws Draft 6 - Complete One Trade

PORTLAND, Maine - October 30, 2016 - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, finished up the 2016 NBA Development League Draft with six players headed to training camp. One player was traded after the draft.

Red Claws Draft Picks By Round:

Round 1 - 20th overall - Adam Woodbury - Center - Iowa*

Round 2 - 42nd overall - Joe Thomasson - Guard - Wright State

Round 3 - 46th overall - Isiah Umipig - Guard - Seattle

Round 3 - 64th overall - Ricky Tarrant - Guard - Memphis

Round 4 - 86th overall - Andrew McCarthy - Center - Massachusetts

Round 5 - 108th overall - Tommy Mason-Griffin - Guard - Oklahoma

*After the draft, the Red Claws completed a trade with Fort Wayne:

- Maine traded the draft rights to Adam Woodbury, Maine's original 2017 1st round draft pick and the rights to Omari Johnson to Fort Wayne for the draft rights to Dallas Lauderdale and returning player rights to Terran Petteway

About the Maine Red Claws

2016-17 marks the eighth season for the Maine Red Claws. The Red Claws have been the minor league affiliate of the Boston Celtics since their inaugural season of 2009-10, and 2016-17 marks the fifth season of a"hybrid" affiliation between the two teams. Under the hybrid model, the Boston Celtics have contracted to run the basketball operations for the Maine Red Claws, including the hiring and training of the coaching and training staff as well as the all player transactions and will act as the Red Claws' sole NBA partner. The Red Claws play their home games at the Portland Expo Building. The franchise is owned and operated by Maine Basketball, LLC, which is principally owned by Bill Ryan Sr., the retired chairman of TD Bank, and Bill Ryan Jr. who serves as the team's chairman.
