RAPTORS 905 SNEAKS AWAY WITH WIN OVER WESTCHESTER KNICKS
November 15, 2017 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release
WHITE PLAINS, NY, November 12, 2017 - The Westchester Knicks (3-2), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, dropped its second game in a row, falling 92-90 to the Raptors 905 (2-2), the Toronto Raptors' affiliate, after leading for all but the final possession.
Knicks affiliate player Trey Burke finished with a game-high 23 points, adding four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. On assignment for the second game in a row, Knicks forward Damyean Dotson supplied 19 points and six rebounds while his teammate Ron Baker provided 12 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Two-Way player Isaiah Hicks fell just short of what would have been his fourth double-double in a row, finishing with 11 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. Knicks affiliate players Nigel Hayes and Xavier Rathan-Mayes came off the bench with Hayes contributing nine points and four rebounds, Rathan-Mayes with six points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.
The 905's Bruno Caboclo came away with a team-high 22 points to go with seven rebounds and two steals. Forward Alfonzo McKinnie notched a double-double of 17 points and 12 assists, his teammate Kennedy Meeks coming off the bench for one of his own with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Raptors Two-Way player Lorenzo Brown finished his night with 13 points, seven assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
Westchester commanded the game early, leaving the Raptors with an 11-point deficit after the first twelve minutes. The visitors managed to catch up to the Knicks' pace in the second, but still trailed 55-43 at the half. Taking advantage of a 15- point third quarter from Westchester, the 905 began its rally back, coming within just four heading into the final quarter.
At first it appeared the fourth quarter would be a battle, but back-to-back threes from the Knicks put the home team ahead by nine. However, the Raptors answered back with a 9-2 run and again, it looked like anyone's game. Though Westchester never relinquished its lead the entire game, a three-point jump shot from 905's Davion Berry with 4.0 seconds on the clock reversed the outcome, giving Raptors 905 the ultimate victory.
The Westchester Knicks and Raptors 905 will face off again on Tuesday, Nov. 14 in Mississauga, Ontario for an 11:00 a.m. match-up. The game will be broadcast live on MSG Networks and will be available streaming via MSG GO and Facebook Live. Tickets for the 2017-18 season are on sale now at Ticketmaster outlets and the Westchester County Center Box Office. Full season membership, half season pick plans, five-game pick plans, and group tickets are also available.
