FORT MYERS, Fla. - Taylor Grzelakowski homered and tripled, but the Palm Beach Cardinals scored two runs in the eighth inning to hand the Fort Myers Miracle a 6-4 loss on Tuesday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
Tied 4-4 in the eighth, Justin Toerner broke the tie with an RBI double to right. Elehuris Montero provided some insurance with a double down the right-field line to push the Cardinals lead to 6-4.
Down 1-0 in the third, the Miracle tied the game on an Aaron Whitefield sacrifice fly. Alex Kirilloff made it 2-1 Miracle with a fourth inning single. Kirilloff has reached base safely in 32 consecutive games.
The Miracle tacked on single runs in the fifth and sixth innings on an Ernie De La Trinidad sacrifice fly and a Grzelakowski solo home run.
Palm Beach trimmed the deficit to 4-3 in the sixth on a Stefan Trosclair RBI triple and a Conner Capel single before tying the game in the seventh when Trosclair was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
