Kernels Home Stand Preview: June 21-27

It's the start of the second half and your Cedar Rapids Kernels host Wisconsin and Beloit in a seven-game home stand that starts Thursday, June 21st. Here's what you can expect these next seven games:

June 21-24 vs. Wisconsin

The Kernels host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, the Midwest League affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, in a four-game series starting Thursday, June 21st.

Three lucky fans, age 18 and older, will win a 40-inch flat screen TV as part of Flat Screen Thursday, presented by First Federal Credit Union. Get a raffle ticket from the First Federal Credit Union table on the concourse and you must be present to win. It's also a 94.1 KRNA Thirsty Thursday - get 12 oz. regular draft beer and 20 oz. bottled soda or water for just $2 all game long. And, show your college ID at the Kernels Ticket Office and get a Club ticket and two regular hot dogs for $9 as part of College Night. Gates open at 5:30 PM and first pitch between the Kernels and Timber Rattlers is set for 6:35 PM.

A HUGE night is on tap when the Kernels take on Wisconsin on Friday, June 22nd. First, it's Harry Potter Night! Come dressed as your favorite characters from the movies and you'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 PM as the first 1,000 fans receive a FREE Harry Potter Wand and Keychain. During the game, both the Kernels AND Timber Rattlers will wear special Harry Potter jerseys, sponsored by Alliant Energy, that will be sold during the game with the proceeds to benefit HACAP's Operation Backpack. It's also a Kernels Friday Mug Club Night: buy a 16 oz. souvenir mug for $6 and get it filled at the concession stand with regular draft beer or soda. Refills are just $3 and bring your mug back to EVERY Friday home Kernels game for $3 refills. Kernels Friday Mug Club is sponsored by Stadium Bar & Grill, Shuey's Restaurant & Lounge, Red's Public House, Mulligan's Pub and Z 102.9. And, the game will be broadcast LIVE on KCRG 9.2! First pitch between the Kernels and Timber Rattlers is set for 6:35 PM.

It's the kickoff to the Kernels State Fair Weekend on Saturday, June 23rd. The first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a FREE admission to the Great Jones County Fair. Enjoy carnival games on the concourse during the game and after the game, enjoy a spectacular FIREWORKS show! Fireworks nights are VERY popular, so get your tickets NOW by calling the Kernels Ticket Office at 896-7560 or buy them online at www.kernels.com. Gates open at 5:30 PM and first pitch is set for 6:35 PM.

State Fair Weekend continues on Sunday, June 24th. Kids can enjoy a Petting Zoo, courtesy Hovick Family Farms at the game. All kids 12-under receive a coupon for a FREE hot dog, popcorn and 12 oz. soda or bottled water as part of Kids Eat Free, presented by Western Fraternal Life. After the game, fans can run the bases, play catch in the outfield and get autographs from the Kernels thanks to Prairie Farms and 104.5 KDAT. Play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo during the game for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see a Twins game. Enjoy Face Painting by Kennedy and Papa Balloon on the concourse during the game. Gates open at 1:00 PM and first pitch is set for 2:05 PM.

June 25-27 vs. Beloit

The Kernels host the Beloit Snappers, the Midwest League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, in a three-game series starting Monday, June 25th.

It's a Mark Down Monday when the Kernels take on Beloit at 6:35 PM. Get regular hot dogs for just $1.50 plus small popcorn, ice cream sandwiches and chips are just $1 each all game. Gates open at 5:30 PM.

Bring your favorite four-legged friend to the ballpark on Tuesday, June 26th for Bark in the Park. Purchase a special 'doggie' ticket for your dog as all dog ticket proceeds benefit Gems Forever and Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids. It's also Twins Tuesday - fans can get a buy one ticket, get one FREE offer when they bring the special Twins Tuesday coupon, sponsored by Great Clips, to the Kernels Ticket Office. The Kernels will wear special Twins Tuesday jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction at the August 17th game and one lucky fan will win a pair of tickets to a Twins game during the 2018 season. Gates open at 5:30 PM and first pitch between the Kernels and Snappers is set for 6:35 PM.

Baseball was meant to be played under warm sunny skies, and that's just what the Kernels have planned on Wednesday, June 27th with a Noon Game. Enjoy our Noon Game Combo, consisting of a regular sandwich, chips or popcorn and 16 oz. regular draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda or water for $8.50 at the Kernels Concession Stands. Fans can also get a discount when they purchase tickets over the phone or at the ticket window when they pay using their Wells Fargo credit or debit card. Gates open at 11:00 AM and first pitch between the Kernels and Beloit is set for 12:05 PM.

Kids Eat Free Sunday, presented by Western Fraternal Life: Every Sunday home game, all kids 12-under receive a voucher for a FREE hot dog, popcorn and 12 oz. soda or bottled water at the Kernels Concession Stands, thanks to Western Fraternal Life.

After every Sunday home game, kids (and adults) can run the bases, play catch on the field and get autographs from the Kernels on the field, presented by Prairie Farms with media sponsor 104.5 KDAT. During the game, play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see a Twins game. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse during the game as well as Face Painting by Kennedy.

Mark Down Monday: Every Monday home game, get regular hot dogs for just $1.50, plus small popcorn, ice cream sandwiches, and chips are each just $1 each.

Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips: Get an on-line coupon from the Kernels Facebook page or email newsletter for a buy one ticket, get one FREE offer at Tuesday home games as part of Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips. At Tuesday home games, one fan will win a pair of tickets to a Twins game and the Kernels will wear special jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction on August 17th.

Flat Screen Thursday, presented by First Federal Credit Union: Every Thursday home Kernels game, fans age 18 and older can get a FREE raffle ticket for a chance to win one of three 40-inch flat screen TVs given away by First Federal Credit Union.

Thirsty Thursday, presented by 94.1 KRNA: Get 12 oz. regular draft beer and 20 oz. bottled soda and bottled water for $2.00 all night.

Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday and from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 AM on Kernel Sunday Home games.
