Texas Legends News Release

FRISCO, TX- The NBA D-League's top scorers, Pierre Jackson and Manny Harris, combined for 56 points Friday night for the Texas Legends (11-10), but the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (16-9) outshot the home team for a 139-121 wire-to-wire victory in Frisco.

The Vipers grabbed the first points of the contest and used a 12-point effort from Chris Johnson to get a six-point edge over the home team. Manny Harris responded with 6-of-8 for 14 in the second, but the Vipers' hot shooting led them into halftime with a 12-point advantage behind 58% completion.

The Legends pulled within four in the third quarter before allowing the visitors to take their largest lead of the night in the final minutes. The 19-point deficit proved too large for the Legends who finished at 46% to the Vipers' 56% overall shooting.

Harris and Jackson led all scorers with 28 points apiece. Harris also tallied 5 rebounds, 3 assists while Jackson added 4 rebounds and a game-high 9 assists. CJ Williams finished 4-for-9 from outside to total 19 points, and Dallas Mavericks assignee Nicolas Brussino totaled 17 points, 4 assists, and a team-high 8 boards.

The Vipers saw eight players finish with double-digits. Joshua Smith added a season-high 27 points for the Vipers, leading the team in rebounds as well (12) for the game's only double-double. JP Tokoto and Darius Morris grabbed 22 points each, and Morris led the Vipers' assist column with 8.

The Legends will get a rematch tomorrow night at 7:30pm at Dr Pepper Arena. For tickets or information visit www.TexLegends.com.
