Detroit Fury has Gone 'Mad' for Science

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Local elementary school students will experience the wonders of science in a new light when the Detroit Fury Field Trip program hosts a Science Show at The Palace of Auburn Hills on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Students from Brewster Elementary in Rochester will attend a science show presented by The Mad Science Group.

The Fury Field Trip will feature a short speaking presentation by Fury players and Detroit Fury Front Office staff members. Following the presentation, The Mad Science Group will feature exhibitions in physics, chemistry and other disciplines. Fury players, cheerleaders and the Detroit Fury Mascot Frenzy, will join the kids for the educational experience.

"We have had some pretty exciting and educational Fury Field Trips over the past three years, but this proves to be the most interesting one yet," said Dave Wieme, director of operations for the Detroit Fury. "These students will have a great opportunity to see how physics and football go hand-in-hand, as well as participate in experiments that will blow their minds."
