Bigs Lead Legends in Stampede over Herd

MISSISSAUGA, ON (Jan. 10, 2018) - The Texas Legends (13-11) had six players post double-digits en route to a 124-113 trampling of the Wisconsin Herd (15-11). The game was the first of two for Texas in the NBA G League Showcase and saw standout performances from the Legends bigs.

Wade Baldwin IV grabbed the first basket for the Legends but Xavier Munford responded quickly with a 3-point play to give Wisconsin the advantage. Seconds later, Justin Dentmon floated a long ball and the Legends took the lead they would hold for the remainder of the game.

Led by their trio of bigs, the Legends extended the gap to 14 in the second before the Herd went on a 12-1 streak to end the half within three. Texas built their largest lead of the night (96-78) and held their distance through the final buzzer.

Johnathan Motley (24 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 steals, 3 blocks) and Jameel Warney (24 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 6 blocks) led the way for Texas while Brandon Ashley (21 points, 12 ebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks) followed closely with the team's third double-double performance. Baldwin IV added 14 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and Donald Sloan finished with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists off the bench. In a shortened performance, Dentmon added 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists.

Munford (26 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) led the Herd in scoring while Joel Bolomboy (24 points, 18 rebounds) and Cliff Alexander (16 points, 10 rebounds) each added double-doubles.

Texas will play their final game of the 2018 Showcase Friday at 1:30 PM CT against the Greensboro Swarm. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
