Davenport, IA - The Quad Cities River Bandits overcame their largest deficit of the season in a victory as they came from six behind to beat the Beloit Snappers 11-7 in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Modern Woodmen Park. The victory moved the Bandits back into a first-place tie with Peoria.

For the second straight game, Beloit jumped ahead early. In the first inning, they used two Cesar Rosado walks and a double to load the bases after three batters. Hunter Hargrove then lifted a sacrifice fly into center field that allowed Mickey McDonald to tag up and score from third to give the Snappers a 1-0 lead. Beloit loaded the bases again later in the frame, but could not score again.

The Snappers were able to add on in the top of the second inning. Jack Meggs led off with a double and came around to score on another double from Mickey McDonald. With two outs, Austin Beck hit the third double of the inning to plate another run and make the score 3-0 in the visitors' favor.

Brendan Feldmann came on from the bullpen for the third inning. He issued a walk to each of the first two hitters he faced. Meggs then lined his second double of the game to left, driving in a run in the process. The next batter, Nick Allen, also yanked a double down the line in left and scored both runners to increase the Beloit advantage to 6-0.

The River Bandits got on the board in the third inning thanks to Adrian Tovalin's RBI double off of the wall in left field. In the fourth inning they pulled even closer. With one out, Miguelangel Sierra doubled into the left field corner. Jake Adams followed with a sharp roller up the middle and into center field to score Sierra and close the gap to 6-2. Bryan De La Cruz joined Adams on base with a walk in front of Tovalin. The third baseman lifted a high fly ball that carried over the left field wall for his third home run of the season. The three-run blast pulled the Bandits within 6-5.

Beloit used a Bandits error to increase their advantage to 7-5 in the top of the seventh. With two outs, Jesus Lopez reached base with a single and advanced to second when Tovalin misplayed a groundball off the bat of Meggs for an error. Allen capitalized with an RBI single to double the cushion.

The decisive inning for the Bandits comeback was the home seventh. Tovalin and Michael Papierski opened the frame with back-to-back singles against Beloit starter Xavier Altamirano. Reliever Nick Highberger entered the game and promptly walked three consecutive hitters to force in the tying run. With the bases still loaded and one out, Jake Adams ripped a double over the head of the center fielder to drive in a pair. A wild pitch scored another run and the inning was capped with a Roman Garcia RBI single up the middle to give the Bandits an 11-7 lead.

The River Bandits racked up 12 hits with both Tovalin and Adams responsible for three hits each. Tovalin was a triple shy of the cycle, while Adams finished without a home run. Tovalin tallied four runs batted in as Adams provided three.

Rosado lasted 2.0 innings and allowed three runs on five hits and three walks. He struck out one. Feldmann followed with 1.0 inning during which he surrendered three runs on two hits and two walks while recording a single strikeout. Next out of the pen was Patrick Sandoval, who turned in 4.0 solid innings that resulted in one unearned run on seven hits with two strikeouts. Carlos Sanabria picked up the save by working the final 2.0 innings without allowing any damage. He struck out two and also walked a pair.

The River Bandits (31-25) will enjoy the final off day of the first half on Monday before heading north to open a three-game series against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. The River Bandits have not yet announced a starter for Tuesday's game. Wisconsin will go with RHP Bowden Francis (1-3, 5.66)
