
Austin Spurs Top Santa Cruz Warriors 111-92 in First-Ever Game at the AT&T Center

SAN ANTONIO - Cady Lalanne recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Atlanta Hawks assignee Tim Hardaway Jr. posted a team-high 30 points as the Austin Spurs (13-3) beat the Santa Cruz Warriors (9-8) 111-92 Tuesday night at the AT&T Center.
Santa Cruz took the early lead of the game with an 8-0 start in the first quarter. Austin responded with a 7-0 run of their own, led by Orlando Johnson scoring four points, cutting Santa Cruz's lead down to one with eight minutes left in the quarter. Santa Cruz came back at the end of the quarter expanding the lead to seven, 27-20, at the two-minute mark. Austin used a 6-0 run at the end of the quarter to narrow Santa Cruz's lead to 27-26 to finish the quarter.
Austin recorded their first lead of the game in the second quarter with 10 minutes left and lead 31-29. They went on a 14-3 run, increasing their lead to 45-32 with seven minutes left in the quarter. Santa Cruz responded late in the first half, closing the gap with Austin leading 53-30 at halftime. Tim Hardaway Jr. led Austin with 14 points in the half, while Santa Cruz's Dan Nwaelele and Darington Hobson each scored a team-high 13 points.
The momentum shifted back and forth in the third with Santa Cruz tying the game at six minutes left in the third. Orlando Johnson made a three-point jumper to regain the lead for Austin. Santa Cruz reclaimed the lead with three minutes left on a two-point jumper from Hobson. Austin finished the quarter on a 10-1 run making the lead for Austin 80-71.
Austin continued to grow their lead through the fourth, leading by as many as 22 with under a minute left in the quarter, 111-89. Nwaelele led Santa Cruz in scoring with 25 points, followed by teammate Hobson's 23 points, but Santa Cruz fell short to Austin, 111-92.
