Canton starts game on 19-0 run en route to victory

The Canton Charge went on a 19-0 run to start Saturday night's game against Raptors 905 and never led by fewer than 11 points after that as the Charge went onto a 105-90 win at Canton Memorial Civic Center in Canton, Ohio.

After going down 19-0 in the first six and a half minutes of the contest, Raptors 905 narrowed the gap to as few as 11 points in the second quarter, but trailed 56-40 at halftime. Canton regained its first-quarter form early in the second half and stretched its lead to as many as 23 in the third quarter en route to the victory. Raptors 905 managed to work the deficit back down to 11 late in the third quarter, but the Charge took over from there.

Leading the way with double digits in points for the Charge were Nick Minnerath (game-high 22), Quinn Cook (17), DJ Stephens (14), Jorge Gutierrez (13), John Holland (11) and Michael Stockton (10). Canton's Jon Horford had a game-high 16 rebounds. Double-digit scorers for Raptors 905 included Axel Toupane (16), Shannon Scott (15), Scott Suggs (14), Ronald Roberts Jr. (13), Ashton Smith (12) and Melvin Johnson III (11). Roberts Jr. completed a double-double with a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Charge led Raptors 905 in field goal percentage (47.8-45.1), points in the paint (66-42), second-chance points (12-4) and fast-break points (18-3), while Raptors 905 held the advantage in three point percentage (30.8-19.4) and free throw percentage (78.3-61.1).

Raptors 905 is back in action Wednesday, December 30 when the club hosts the Los Angeles D-Fenders at Hershey Centre in Mississauga at 7:30 p.m.
